WHAT’S NEXT FOR MUSIC

APRIL 1st, 2022

After getting back to the festival known to many as, SXSW, life seems to getting back to normal down in Austin, Texas. The sunny skies of Texas provided the perfect backdrop to the fun fueled festival. From local presenters such as “The Smoke Out ATX” and “Very Necessary & Friends” to the big dogs on campus, “RapTV Presents Rolling Loud” the fest was in full swing. But it left some people asking, “What Next For Music?”

Seeing sold-out venues, artists back to networking with their peers, everything about 2022 felt like regular schedule programming. We got a visit from Web3 founder of CREATURES, Billyracxx, who proposes the innovation of music in the metaverse. As we speculated with him prior to his Rolling Loud performance, we found there is no shortage of creative ways to release music these days, from his song Psycho Kitty, to his record called JPEG RICH, he’s connected with communities to create new life for his music outside of traditional Web2 DSPS like, Apple Music, and Spotify.
